1. Cook the Sausage
Place a skillet over medium heat and add the sausage. Cook it while breaking it into small crumbles until fully browned. Once done, drain off the excess grease and set the sausage aside.
2. Prepare the Egg Base
In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs and milk. Whisk until smooth, then stir in salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika to season the mixture.
3. Build the Casserole
Lightly grease a baking dish. Spread the cooked sausage evenly across the bottom. If you’re using bread cubes, scatter them over the sausage. Add the shredded cheese and any vegetables you like, such as peppers, spinach, or onions. Pour the egg mixture over everything so it coats the layers evenly.
4. Bake
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 30–40 minutes, or until the center is fully set and the top develops a lightly golden color.
